Hello, my name is Alan, and I would like to welcome you to my Aerial Photography Gallery.
In case you were expecting to see lots of shots of landscape taken from several thousand feet up in the air, whilst hanging out of an aircraft or helicopter, I have to disappoint you and say that these aerial photographs are just that - photographs of Aerials!
As a keen radio enthusiast and Radio Amateur/Ham Radio Operator, I have always had a great interest in the various types of aerial/antenna systems in use by the numerous emergency services/broadcasters/phone companies etc. and in this gallery I have included shots of a number of them. The ones shown here are mainly from my local area, but hopefully in the coming months and years it will be expanded as and when the opportunity allows, and will eventually cover aerials masts a bit further afield.
Where the type of antenna is known I have included a brief description, and also details of the location.
I am also interested in photographing many other modes of transport, as well as many other subjects, so do pay a visit to my Railway, Bus, Aviation, Maritime, Tram & LRT, Outside Broadcast Unit, Emergency Vehicle (Police, Fire, Ambulance etc.), Construction (Wind Farms, Building sites, major Civil Engineering Projects etc.), and Heritage (everything else) Galleries if you are also interested in any of these subjects.
