This small relay mast is located at Newchurch in Rossendale, Lancashire, at NGR SD840226, and is run by Arqiva. Power radiated is quite low at just 4 watts, and as is often the case with Pennine areas, is required to fill in the reception to residents lower down in the valleys, that are shielded from the higher powered transmitters.
This small mast also hosts several mobile phone aerials, and according to: http://www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/ the upper antennas belong to Vodafone (site no. 4101), and the lower ones to T-Mobile (site no. 66503).
The two white vertical antennas look like the type used by Taxi 'MDT' systems, though I can't confirm if that is the case with this one.
Yet another beautifully sunny February day, and you can also see just how close this relay is to the Whitwell mast, just a short distance to the north, and slightly further up the valley.
